Story: French luxury goods brand S.T. Dupont was founded in 1872 by Simon Tissot-Dupont and is currently based in Paris. Collections are diverse and include handbags, pens, lighters, fragrances, and cigarettes. The company started by producing leather briefcases and in 1929 was invited to New York by Cartier to present travel cases. In 1941, the brand started a line of lighters in aluminum as brass was restricted for the war effort. In the following years, 18k gold replaced aluminum as the brand wanted a more premium portfolio. S.T. Dupont is now a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based fashion retailer Dickson Concepts after previous ownership by Gillette. Today, the brand is best known for luxury lighters, pens, and leather goods with a line of wristwatches as well.
